Black Friday Ads That You Should Copy For Christmas
Some really impactful ads from the money-maker season that you should definitely copy next month
Black Friday doesn’t do too well for Indian eCommerce - the budgets are high, CTRs don’t make sense, the ads are poorly executed, and most leads just go down the drain.
But that doesn’t mean it’s of no use. America kills it during Black Friday. Shopify pulled out a little stunt for this event, it recorded USD $4.2Mn in sales per minute on Black Friday - across all Shopify stores around the world.
And yes, I still listen to Hormozi :)
But Shopify’s cool-ass Globe aside, I wanted to understand what ads people were using to get more conversions for their Ad Spends.
Because UGC is getting saturated. People are seeing past the stupidly obvious paid posts that creators are putting out. Conversions from UGC are still great, but only if they’re well thought-out, else the audience is desensitized.
I found five ads that have worked really well this Black Friday, and you should definitely consider copying them for Christmas.
So let’s just dive straight into them. Copy these five Ads as fast as you can before the audience gets desensitized to them as well.
DnD Black Friday!
Best way to advertise your service? Give the users a sneak peak of the experience.
This ad stood out to me because of the use of visual storytelling to convey the message. Good storytelling, great music, powerful delivery. Clear CTA: Save $300
One thing they could’ve done better is to just add an end card CTA, just to boost conversions. But yeah, solid execution.
Stock Clearance Ads
Ad links: Digger Lid and Outrageous Audio
These have been the most unique ones I’ve seen in a while. Creating demand by showing the few items in your warehouse? Sign me up!
This ad is brilliant because it creates the illusion of pre-existing demand, and multiplying FOMO, couple this with a few days of Before-and-after Ads, and you’re golden.
Love this one by Digger Lid btw
These kinds of ads cut straight through the noise, make you listen actively, and create a memorable brand in your head. That’s all good advertising really is.
What I Ordered….
Companies like Myntra already follow Pact’s style of content-based ads, but if you’re a local retailer, you’d do well to steal this too.
Personally I’m not a fan of these, because I’ve seen one too many of these kinds of content, but they still do fairly well as Ad creatives. You see a lot of people actually converting from these, so doesn’t hurt to try.
The Plain Old Static Image
The age-old static ads still work. You should NOT be done with them. This one from iPlanet is a great example.
A couple rules to follow with Static Ads:
Clear pricing
Clear CTA
Use color to stand out
Honorable Mention: Apple
Apple won my heart with their Airpods Pro 2 ad. Easily the best one this Holiday season.
Just give it a watch, you won’t be disappointed.
