But they did one thing right, and that has made all the difference in the world

Last week, Luma announced their latest update to their AI video generator, and along with it one BIG curtain raiser - users would now be able to use Luma Labs as they see fit to generate videos.

Enough to say Twitter went batshit crazy! This is just chatGPT all over again.

Accounts like @KakuDrop put out insane Luma vids that just did not make sense to the person outside the genAI loop (me!)

Why did Luma get so much hype?

Simple, Unlike Sora - which showed promise a year ago and has had no updates since, Luma actually let users play around with the product.

Where Sora showed us a few examples of the kind of videos you could generate, Luma made it so fcking simple for you to get hyper-realistic videos.

One added benefit from this motion is that Luma will be getting hundreds of thousands of data points from users to help its machine learn faster.

And if we have learnt anything from the chatGPT vs Gemini battle, it’s that the fastest player will win. And right now, Luma is killing it 

The quality and speed at which you get feedback from the product is so good, you can’t help but wonder why Sora isn’t responding.

Sora has to act fast and open its platform out to the world or Luma will eat up the market before you know it.
